KeepMemo

Overview

KeepMemo is a personal relationship memory app. Your privacy is our highest priority.

By default, everything you enter stays on your device. We do not run KeepMemo servers that collect your memories, and we do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

Some features are optional and only run when you turn them on: local backups, Google Drive sync to your own Google account, contact import, and notifications.

What Data Is Stored on Your Device

KeepMemo stores the following information locally on your phone:

• People profiles — names, photos, relationship type, birthdays, important dates, notes, favorites, and contact details you add
• Memories — text, photos, videos, voice recordings, tags, and linked people
• Journal entries — text, mood, and linked people
• Plans and reminders — titles, dates, steps, and notification preferences
• Gift history — gifts given or received and related notes
• App settings — theme, notification times, lock preferences, backup preferences
• App lock security data — a hashed PIN and optional hashed security answer (not the raw PIN or answer)

This data remains on your device unless you choose to export a backup or enable Google Drive sync.

Data That Does Not Leave Your Device by Default

We do not operate a KeepMemo cloud account for your content. We do not upload your people, memories, journal entries, photos, or voice notes to our servers.

There is no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK that sends usage data about you to third parties for tracking or ads.

Optional: Local Backup Export / Import

You can export a backup file from Settings. That file may contain your people, memories, journal entries, plans, gifts, photos, and voice recordings.

Backup files are currently unencrypted. Anyone who obtains the file can read its contents. You are responsible for storing export files safely.

KeepMemo does not upload local export files unless you also enable Google Drive sync as described below.

Optional: Google Drive Sync

If you enable Google Drive sync in Settings, you sign in with your Google account. KeepMemo then uploads a backup of your app data to your own Google Drive, using Google’s Drive API with the limited drive.file scope (files created by this app).

• The backup lives in your Google account, not on a KeepMemo server
• Google’s privacy policy and terms apply to data stored in Drive
• You can turn sync off, sign out, or delete the backup file from Drive at any time
• Restoring from Drive replaces the current data on this device with the Drive backup

Cloud sync stays off until you explicitly enable it.

Optional: Contact Import

You can import names and basic contact details from your device’s address book. This only happens when you start the import yourself and grant the contacts permission. Imported information is stored locally. We do not upload your full address book to our servers.

Permissions We Request

• Photos / media — to attach images or videos to people and memories
• Microphone — to record voice notes attached to memories
• Notifications — reminders for birthdays, important dates, plans, and On This Day
• Contacts — only when you choose Import contacts
• Biometric unlock — only if you enable app lock with biometrics
• Exact alarms — so scheduled reminders can fire on time (on some Android versions you must allow this in system settings)
• Internet — for optional Google sign-in and Drive sync, and for opening links you tap
• Battery optimization / auto-start related access — optional prompts on some devices so background reminders are less likely to be delayed

App Lock

If you enable app lock, KeepMemo stores a one-way hash of your PIN and, if set, a one-way hash of your security answer. The raw PIN is not stored in plain text.

Biometric unlock uses your device’s system authentication. We do not receive or store your fingerprint or face data.

Insights

Insights are generated on your device using simple built-in logic and templates. No cloud AI processing is used for Insights, and nothing is sent off your device for this feature.

Third-Party Services

When you use optional Google Drive sync, Google processes sign-in and Drive storage under Google’s policies. Opening a phone number, email, or social link uses other apps on your device. KeepMemo does not control those apps.

Android System Backup

KeepMemo is configured so that Android Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer do not include your app data. Uninstalling is intended to leave private KeepMemo data off the next install unless you previously exported a backup or enabled Drive sync yourself.

Children's Privacy

KeepMemo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall KeepMemo. Exported backup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete those files. Google Drive backups remain in your Drive until you delete them.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the new version will appear on this page and in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
